SWIMMING A FULL YEAR WITH FINS
FINS offers all-year programming geared towards helping swimmers of all ages & abilities learn to enjoy the sport of swimming. Our swimmers have fun, get faster & stronger, and learn to swim to their max potential!
Here is everything you need to know to structure a great year of swimming with FINS:
*Immediately following Labor Day weekend, FINS swimmers will join us for our EARLY FALL OUTDOOR SEASON. This is an 8-week program held outdoors at the Heated Old Farm Swim & Paddle Club. Practices will be available after-school on weekdays from 4-8pm as well as on weekends. This program will extend that fresh-air, outdoor, summer feeling through the month of October. Swimmers enrolled in this program may swim up to 5x per week!
We are offering the FINS Training Group (FTG), a more intensive and fitness oriented program geared towards our Sharks & Dolphins Swimmers at outdoor facilities.
- Old Farm Swim & Paddle Club is centrally located by the 495/I-270 Spur (Just a 10 min drive from our Georgetown Prep location).
*Starting later in September swimmers will be welcomed at Georgetown Prep Pool for the start of our 9-MONTH WEEKEND INDOOR PROGRAM, which will go all the way through May. Practices will be offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and most swimmers will join us for 1 to 2 practices per week throughout the school year. FINS has run this program for the past 15 years with the goal of maintaining great strokes during the colder months and being fully ready to go for the Spring and Summer seasons.
*In the winter months Marlins and UP swimmers can take advantage of swimming 4 times per week at the enclosed heated pool at Lakewood Country Club. Programming runs from November through March.
*Returning in April, FINS will again host an 8-week OUTDOOR SUMMER PREP PROGRAM at the Heated Old Farm Swim & Paddle Club! Practices will be held 7 days a week throughout the months of April and May. There will be no better opportunity to get ready for summertime than by swimming with FINS during the spring, as our coaches will be zeroed in on getting kids ready to go for everything that summer league has to offer! We will also offer a 5-week OUTDOOR SUMMER PREP PROGRAM at the Heated Seven Locks Swim Club starting at the end of April through May.
BOTH outdoor options that are available during the Fall & Spring seasons are fully integrated with our indoor program. Programs are designed so that swimmers are able to easily participate in MULTIPLE programs simultaneously. The practice times and dates offered at different facilities have very minimal overlap with one another and great discounts/savings are offered to those who participate in multiple programs! Keep in mind that the G. Prep indoor program is on the weekends only, while the 8-week Fall & Spring seasons run 7 days a week and allow for a more intensive experience with daily and after-school options. The same FINS Coaches will be present at both programs, the locations are a very short drive from one another (less than 10 min), and the instruction given will take into account that swimmers are enrolled in multiple programs. On average, over 75% of our FINS swimmers participate in multiple programs throughout the year!
