FINS COACHES

Chrissy Cernoch
FINS Head Coach
Coach Chrissy began swimming at the age of 3 when her parents saw how much she loved playing in water. Her father was also a swimmer/coach and his love for swimming played a huge part in her decision to pursue the sport. Her favorite part of swimming is the close-knit community that the sport has provided her. Many of her best friends have been with her from the age of 5 and continue to be her sources of support and competition at the university level. She is a junior at the University of Maryland – CP, where she is studying Kinesiology, French, and is on the pre-medical track. She is also an active member of the UMD club swim team with many of her former high school teammates. She has always seen swimming as a great form of exercise and a fun way to make friends! Chrissy loves coaching because she gets to share not only a sport she loves but an essential survival skill with other kids. She especially loves coaching at FINS because of the enthusiasm the kids show towards learning how to swim. (Shout-out to the other coaches for making this the best job. Go FINS!)
