FINS COACHES

Kevin Mejia
FINS Head Coach
Coach Kevin is a product of MCSL and credits everything he learned to the coaches he’s been blessed with his whole career. During his high school tenure ’09-13, Walter Johnson enjoyed a deep roster that lead them to years of success. WJ secured a two time state championship run and Kevin was lucky enough to participate in Metros, 3 out of 4 years. Kevin was recruited to swim D1 for Towson, but ultimately chose Salisbury University on the Eastern Shore.
His coaching journey began as an assistant coach in 2014 for the Glenmont Gators. Since then, Kevin has been a head coach for the RMSC Senior group (ages 13-18) for 3 years and has completed 6 seasons leading the Gators. Glenmont has seen a resurgence in Kevin’s time and it’s very clear why, there is no age group he can’t handle. Under Kevin’s leadership Glenmont has grown from a roster of just over 50, dwelling at the bottom of the league in division N, to shocking the league with an appearance in division C, boasting a roster of 200 kids. This coach looks to do more than just teach the basics of swimming, but to encourage and inspire positivity in the water. The rest will follow.
