*A group lessons program offered to younger (ages ~ 7-10) intermediate level swimmers who feel comfortable swimming beyond 25 yd/m. FINS coaches will work with swimmers in a group setting to further swimmers’ technique in all four strokes, gain exposure to race pace swimming, develop swimming skills (including starts, flipturns, and more!), and further swimming vocabulary. Practices take place in a 25 yd/m “competition” pool.
*Marlins is a great group for intermediate swimmers who have experience participating on a swim team or have received some type of organized swim instruction and are looking to refine their skills in freestyle and backstroke, and continue to develop their understanding and technique in breaststroke and butterfly.
*In order to participate, swimmers must feel comfortable swimming beyond 25 yd/m of the pool with a clear understanding of freestyle (including arm strokes, kicking, side breathing), backstroke (arm strokes & kicking), have a general understanding of and be able to attempt breaststroke “frog” kick and butterfly “dolphin” kick.
Note: Parents are able to view the pool and session from a designated seating area or from outside of the facility, but are not allowed to be in immediate proximity to the practice. Those more advanced intermediate swimmers who feel comfortable swimming beyond 25 yd/m of the pool and already showcase more developed technique in all strokes will be able to transition into more advanced groupings after being evaluated during practice. Divisions within this group will exist based on swimmer abilities.
